What are the effects of lengthened stabilizer bar lengths?

Good day to all -
I'm interested in determining the effects on body roll and steering if any, by lengthening the down link from the stabilizer bar to the lower control arm, assuming all other paramenters remain the same. Will lengthening create a pre-load condition? if so, to what advantage or disadvantage in reference to body roll and handling? Vehicle is used exclusively off road in road racing competition, using the 98-2001 GM F-body (Camaro/Firebird).
Thanks for any and all posts!

Sorry Title should read What are the effects of lengthened stabilizer links

The main effect will be that at design height you will change teh effective rate. Th current design probably has the link vertical, and the arm on the bar horizontal at design. As you lengthen the link you will move the arm of the bar away from horizontal, which will increase the rate.

It will also upset the roll springing progression around design, which may or may not be beneficial.

If it is only an inch or so I'd go ahead.

Cheers
