IT IS UNDERSTOOD THAT WITHIN A WATER SYSTEM ANY INCREASE IN Ph WILL ADVERSLY AFFECT any CL DISINFECTION CAPABILITIES; THEREFORE pH MODIFICATION SHOULD HAPPEN AFTER THE DISINFECTION (i.e. CONTACT TANK EXIT) IF AT ALL POSSIBLE. I PLAN TO INJECT ORTHO & SODA ASH AS A REMEDY TO A CORROSION ISSUE.
Can anyone tell me a couple of things:
1. Soda Ash & Ortho(KPO4@2mg/l) - The adddition of these chemicals.. Generally, Is is instantaneous?
2. If I cannot have pH adjustment after disinfection, how hampered will the disinfection be if initial pH is 5.7, and final is approx. 7.5? Any reference documents?
