Waste of Desalination Plants

De salination plant for sea water based on Reverse Osmosis are used widely for the purpose. Acids and alkalines are used for nuetralising pH value. The question is how much Envirnment Friendly are these plants. Do they require special care for the waste disposal or their waste is not lethal for lets say seawater?
