Video Compression Training

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction. I'm interested in learning more about Video Encoding/Decoding principles. I'm not looking to create my own CODEC, but I would like to have a better understanding of the technology. Are there any conferences or courses that are available to assist me in my endeavor?

Google things like "MPEG tutorial", etc. You'll find plenty of high- and low-level info online. For actual training classes, you may want to try looking at the MPEG.org website, they may have a list of suggested courses there. Telling us what level of detail you're looking for would help us steer you in the right direction.
