Vault Door Design

I think this would be the best forum to ask this... I am design a hatch the locks with a mechanism similar to a bank vault, i.e. having a centrally located hand wheel which when turned advances a series of radial pins outward. I am not sure how the gear arrangement should be designed. If anyone has any insight or links to information, regardless of how general, all would be appreciated.
