Turn off Wave Updating?

Version: 7.5.5.4

I have an assembly of a DRIVER model with sketches and models for each of the 3D components that are driven from the DRIVER via WAVE.

When I make the DRIVER the displayed part and work in a sketch it automatically updates the models in the background. Is there a way to turn this off?

I know I can go into full sketch mode - I'd just rather not.
