I am designing a pressure vessel. It is a cylinder (72" OD) that has a nozzle (42") attached. To the nozzle I need to attach a transition (42"-30"). to the transition a flange is attached (30").
I use Compress. The transition gets attached to the cylinder and not to the nozzle when I run the attachment section in the program.
Can someone advice of similar issues and how resolved.
Thanks,
EJ

EJ,

COMPRESS does not design components extending beyond the nozzle neck. Only flanges (with or without blind or bolted cover), heads, or welded covers can be attached to nozzles. Components such as transitions or additional cylinders cannot be attached to the nozzle.

However, you can model this construction in a second COMPRESS design file with the nozzle as the main cylindrical shell in the file.
