Hi,

I have a quickpanel junior 6" monochron hmi with a devidenet module attached to it. I am trying to get my 1747 devicenet scanner card (SLC 505 Processor) to recognize the device. I have registered the EDS file in RS Networks and the eds file has checked out ok. The status led's on the hmi indicates that power is on and my hmi is on line ok, but the touch screen flashes plc comm error (indicating that it is not online) and the hmi on rs networks shows it as missing?

Certain things i would like to know:

1) I am using the ethernet port on my slc 505 processor as a devicenet pass through to communicate with rs networks. I know a devicenet iterface card PCMIA ? can be used to properly connect your computer to the devicenet network. The pass through only runs at 125kbaud and it is taking a really long time to upload or download to data to the 1747 scanner card. (can the pass through be used or must the PCMIA card be used initialy setting up the network)

2)i have 1 x 120 ohm resistor on last node on the devicenet network. Should i add another 120 ohm resister at the scanner card.

3) what else could be causing the quickpanel 6" jr monochrome touch sceen not be detected online. ( i have checked devicenet cable being daisy chained to that device)

Thanks

Hi All,

Does anybody know how to trigger cells in excel from an A/B SLC500 series controller. I know that you can use a DDE link through rs linx to excel. What kind of code is needed in excel to trigger for example, different colors (red/green and text--for fault /ok indicators//example: high temp (red), temp ok (green)). basically using excel as a diagnostics monitor.

??can push buttons be made with macros?? for example fault reset buttons, to trigger back to slc500 plc to reset bits??

Thanks in advance
