I've been reading a little about the differences between rolled threads vs. cut threads. One question I have is can you roll "fine threads" as opposed to "course threads"? Seems the accuracy of rolled threads would be limited, is that the case?

Fine threads are easier to roll than coarse as they require less plastic deforms. The fit tolerance is looser rolled. I would assume that would limit the fine-ness of the thread in an extreme case.

roll threads are easier and faster if the parts geometry allows for it. fasteners are mostly thread rolled

and rolled threads are generally stronger.

And cheaper... When one is buying fasteners, since there can be a large number of them used in a machine or device, unit price can be an important factor.

Rolled threads are only cheaper in small diameters and in mass production. If OP is asking about accuracy this may not be a case of mass production.
