How would I show text on a model? I really do not want to place text and then extrude. I have drawn a wooden shipping crate and I need to show the "spray painted" work order number on one of the pieces of lumber. The only way that I have found is to create text in a sketch and then extrude. Thanks in advance!

This is something you should be able to do in Photoworks. If you are thinking of using the box as an every day model (palette part), it's probably best to leave off the text (or at least use a config) so it doesn't impair your performance.

The extrude way will work in a standard part scenario, and works well for every day use.

If it's just the model you can use the Sketch Picture tool to place an image.

If you have PhotWorks you can create and place a Decal.

You could create the text in a sketch and just have the sketch showing.

Or you could just place text in the drawing view.

I think the decal function in Photoworks will do, thanks guys!
