I've imported some 2D geometry from AutoCAD and I want to turn the lines into surfaces. When I extrude a line to form a surface, it creats the surface but when I go to select it for further manipultaion I get a message saying that it has no facets. I've tried deleting the imported line and drawing a new one in its place but the same thing occurs. Is there a way to fix this?
I don't want to create boundry surfaces everytime I need a new surface because it takes so much longer.

With 2D elements i generally create the surfaces between 2 or more curves if i'm creating the geometry myself.

Did you make the shell element mesh by extrtuding the curve? Or did you make at first the surface (geometry) by extruding the curve and then meshed the surface?
