Has anyone ever used an old DOS program called, "STREAMLINES"? It is for piping networks. Seems pretty powerful, but is clumsy to use with Windows. Would like to hear from any users on tips to make it easier.

I have used it, in a DOS window under XP.
Works fine once you get the hang of it.
Results seem credible.

Thanks for the replies.

Mike, how do you get to the DOS window in XP? My computer does not have such prompt. I have to use it with wordpad and it is tricky. Getting better at it though. Hardest part is inputting data in right place. Have to put the txt files in STREAMLINES folder too.

Something like Start|Programs|Accessories|DosPrompt,
or Start|Run|Command.com
or, better, write a batch file (they have a different name under XP, but I'm old)
to cd /STREAMLINES
and do all the other housekeeping.
Actually, I think such a file comes with the program archive; you just customize it and set up a shortcut to it.

Above may be inaccurate; my XP machine is busy/crashing trying an iPhone upgrade.
I mostly use Fedora Linux now. ... and haven't found a way to run Streamlines in it.

Mike, I did manage to model a couple of pumps in parallel, each with a separate suction line. How do I model them with a common suction line? I keep getting errors saying duplicate pipes, or node not listed. They are listed, but apparently not the way the program wants them. A little help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Working only from memory here, I think you need to give them a common water source.
...
But be aware; I remember having difficulty with a very similar issue, and I'm not recalling exactly how I dealt with it.
