I'm in the offshore industry. We have a mooring connector design that will undergo some testing. The classification standard and surveyor require the steel materials to undergo strain age testing. Although the classification standard mentions the strain age testing requirement, it does not detail the testing procedure or make any reference to an other standards like ASTM or something. So, what is strain age testing and what standards or codes detail the procedure?
