Storage method for a liquor heat exchanger

Hi all, I've a liquor heat exchanger (shell and tube type) that is going to be put offline and waiting to be put into the store until it is needed again. With the shell made of Carbon steel and the tube made of Duplex steel. What is a good method to keep the heat exchanger in a good state (ie, no corrosion inside)? Someone suggested the heat exchanger should be fill with nitrogen gas and attached a pressure guage to detect if any gas leak. I would like to know whether that's a good idea?

Sounds reasonable.

Clean throughly with something appropriate for the materials.

Dry very well, maybe even connect to a vacuum pump for a day or so to make sure all the moisture is out. Break the vacuum with Nitrogen.

Often desicants are added to soak up the last amount of moisture. N blanketing will only work if you actually check it once in a while. If they just want to forget it there are materials made for the lay up of boilers that combine PVI and desicants.
