Stereo welding

Hello,

One of our clients is using stereo/ simultaneous this is carried out by two simultaneous TIG welders which brings the filler metal into the weld pool to. The explain it as follows:
Our stereo welding ensures a proper control of the weld pool and this is good for the quality of the weld. Because there is simultaneous welding two TIG welders can control the weld pool, the quality of the weld pool on both sides of the workpiece as it is well equal and is a perfect perusing established.

However I can't find anything in the ASME or TEMA code about it? Is their a code case or am I using the wrong technical term (stereo/ simultaneous TIG welding)?

2 Tig/GTAW welders in the same puddle/weld pool - very interesting. Are either of the wire additions 'hot wire', i.e. carrying a current to make them melt easier? Is either welder adding wire 'by hand', holding a cut length of rod?

Yes two welders are welding in the same weld pool. We are using cold wire and only one of them is adding the wire by hand.

To the best of my knowledge, this is a unique application/method. It would be able to be qualified under Sect IX though. There is enough 'wiggle room' in IX to qualify a number of odd methods. There would be two sets of amps/volts to control, but 'do-able'.

I've seen two weldors welding large diameter pipes (vertical axis) together with only one weld pool. One adding filler from the inside, the other from the outside.
I was only a visitor at that place, so I don't have any idea about the WPS followed. But as it was in a petrochemical company, I have no doubt there was one.
