Steam Trap Pressure Temperature Ratings?

Maybe because it's Friday but I cannot find where the maximum allowable pressure and temperature ratings of steam traps are in the code. I'm looking at a bunch of specs for stainless steel thermodynamic steam traps (ie NTD600 series from Nicholson and WD600 by Waston McDaniel). The max pressure is listed as 600psi at a temperature of 800F.

Is there a list of temperature vs pressure ratings somewhere for these? I've looked at B31.1, B31.3 and ANSI FCI-69-1.

From FCI-69-1 my best guess is that this is just from manufacturer testing but I thought I'd ask eng-tips people to see if maybe I'm missing something.

Equipment, such as valves and pumps, are not be specifically covered by piping design codes, but may be found within some of the specifications that they reference. API 6D for pipeline valves, etc.

Seems like you're reversing the problem.

Your process (your design documents for this particular power plant) determines the steam and feedwater pressure and temperature that EVERYTHING inside that plant has to withstand safely. Any given particular steam trap may (or may not!0 meet those pressure and temperature ratings, based on how that manufacturer built his product. Its not that a steam trap meets an ANSI or ASME spec, its that it meets the pressure and temperature requirements called out by that spec.

Sorry if I worded the question too obscurely. I guess what I was looking for was more along the lines of the pressure and temperature charts for flanges found in ASME B16.5.

I think for these items it is just manufacturer by manufacturer as to the top temperature and pressure rating for the components. I don't think there is a set chart out there in the standards. The tests are done to ANSI FCI-69-1 or to ASTM F1139, or whatever standard is chosen and the manufacturer indicates in their literature what their particular item can handle.

Our process (design documents) specify components that will safely with-stand the system temperature and pressure. I was just curious as to how the manufacturers get their values.
