We build alot of sheet metal cabinets and enclosures where appearance is at a premium. The cabinets are being made of 20 gauge galvanized as per the customers design. Currently we have been plug welding most of the products. One of the problems we have is welds showing through the paint. We are trying to accomodate our customers request to switch over to spot welding and my question is this. I would like to get a portable and a pedestal machine. I need 14" throat for portable and 24" for machine, how much KVA should be looking at to weld two pieces of .036" material cleanly.
