Just wondering where to look for errata for reference texts that I have. The errata I'm looking for is for the book "Foundation Engieerning for Difficult Soil Condtions" by L. Zeevaert. I tried the publisher, which seemed like the logical place, but they (Van Nostrand Reinhold Co.) no longer exist. Then I tried looking up the author and while I found him in a few listings, I could not find an e-mail contact for him or what school he is with.

Just wondering what other do, punt?

Good question, Jim. I have the book myself (scanned from one of the profs at Indian Institute of Technology) - have the real book in storage in Toronto. Not aware of any errata on it. I believe that Prof. Zeevaert might have joined Terzaghi, Tschebotarioff and Peck.

Zeevaert was born in 1914, which would make him 94 or 95 now. In 1983, he was at Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico, in Mexico City, but I suspect that is no longer the case.

Thanks guys. If BigH is correct, Zeevaert is studing geotechnical problems from the bottom side up. I tried a couple of references to colleges where he taught, but there were no listing of him on the faculty.

I did get this as a response from John Wiley & Sons:

"Response (Chad W.) 08/12/2009 07:14 PM

Thank you for contacting Wiley Technical Support. Wiley acquired VNR in 1997, however we do not have an errata sheet for this title. When we do have errata reported, they are listed on the book's page on . This particular book is not listed on our website because it is out of print, and is no longer available for purchase."

The reference to the "book's page" may be of use for other books and publishers, so I thought I would pass it along if any of you have a similar question.

Thanks for you comments.
