South Texas nuclear plant expansion delayed?

Heard about two weeks ago that the South Texas nuclear plant expansion (Plants 3 & 4) was being deferred, if not canceled outright. But since then, I've seen no confirmation nor denial.

Any other information about this - now that the tax-and-trade carbon bill has been rammed through the House of Representative?

I think yo heard wrong.

They are on the short list for government loan guarantees.

600 full time equivalent people working on the new units at this time.

July 1 one of the co-owners affirmed their intention to proceed:

Hostile takeover big from another co-owner NRG remains in progress, but there's no indication that would stop anything if successful.

There have been some controversy in the cost estimates lately which are still being worked out

Could somebody have confused an Exelon project with the South Texas planning/designing effort?
 
Good point.

Exelon pulled the plug on its own nuclear plant plans in south texas area (Victoria) based on not making the cut for federal loan guarantees:
