Hey guys,
I am simulating a solidification of a solder drop in a substrate, dimensions are all in micro range and the procedure takes 20ms (drop hits the substrate and then cools down to the room temperature)
when i use ansys to simulate the experiment (transient, stepped load and everything) i get results in the micro-second range.
i tried everything but the scaling is still a problem, it might be that my dimensions are not compatible. is there any one who has done thermal simulations using enthalpy values?
these are the dimensions i am feeding to the software:
Units: SI
Length:m
Density: Kg/m3
Specifiec Heat: J/Kg°C
Conductivity: W/m°C
Convection: W/m2°C
Enthalpy: J/kg (this dimension is kindda strange to me)
I dont use the /UNIT command cause im feeding everything myself (i take care of all dimensions). could that be the problem?
there is a casting tutorial in ansys help but the dimensions are not in SI units and i couldnt convert the enthalpy dimensions there to see if im on the right track.
Help me out please,
Aknil
