Hello everyone, I have had some recent problems with Mechanical Desktop v4.0 solid models that I have never had before. The files in question are with a fairly complex assembly (I have assembled the parts into an assembly - the individual files are X-refed). I draw the parts and then assemble them. I can go into the individual parts and modify them and then one day (literally, it appears that there is no rhyme or reason to it) the parts will crash MDT4 when I try to do any kind of modification - from simply changing sketch planes to modifying a feature. I rename and open the BAK file to the same result. AUDIT shows no (zero) errors in the file. RECOVER does not help. Again, I can open the part, orbit, modify the print in paper space, etc. but any kind of modification to the part suddenly crashes MDT4. This happens with several of the part drawings in this assembly.
I have redrawn various parts now three times and created new assemblies each time - always with the same result: everything is fine one day and the next the parts are unmodifiable. This has never happened to me before. Can anyone help? I am running Windows 2000 Professional, Pentium III - 1.12Ghz, 512Mb laptop. Norton Antivirus runs every week and I recently defragmented my drive - however this problem has be recurring with this group of parts long before the defrag.
I am tired of redrawing these parts every few weeks only to have them, again, become unusable when I need to make a modification. Can anyone help?
Thanks,
John
