It would be appreciated if anyone could please direct me to any online papers or info specifically relating to the design of pumping and piping stations specifically for slurry applications.

Hi KBasson. Please tell us more about the slurry. Is it crushed mineral, wet sand, food, sewage, or what. Is the liquid component corrosive ? Temperature? You might be surprised that for some duties plastic pipes are the optimum choice. What flow rate are your pumps.? Define the problem and we can help. Cheers David W

Do a google search on Heywood and slurry. Niogel Heyward has poublished some interesting papers on the subject. Other authors include Boger, Wasp, Jacobs,Thomas, Wilson and Addie. Apologies to those leaned people I havent listed who frely publish their papers on the net.

The BHRA in the UK also have numerous papers however you will need to pay for their conference papers.

You might also try the pump companies such as Warman, Geho, Wirth, TKL, Gallagher, Ash etc.

For what its worth, I found bugger all of use on the net that helped me with this topic.
In desperation, I purchased "Slurry Transport Using Centrifugal Pumps" Wilson,Addie, Sellgren, Clift published by Blackie
OK but not brilliant. GIW give out a useful little book, and so do Warman but you have to push them a little.

Bottom line is unpredictability. No guarantees without testing.
Lazarus & Neilson did some useful friction loss work but its hard to find.
