Hi All,

Just looking to get people's experience with PSV sizing and selection from both the operator and vendor point of view.
In my experience, people tend to either send so much process or application information that they could have completed the exercise themselves or so little that it any solution derived is practically useless.

As end users, are there expectations we should have of what is the manufacturer's / consultants responsibility and what we need to provide and conversely as vendors, what do we see as the end user's responsibility to provide?

Obviously these responsibilities are outlined in code but I'm asking more in terms of day to day how different parts of the industry interact.

I am doing 3-4 sizing sheets for the customer per a month regarding the like to like items
My experience shows me that if the part number is the same with the old one they check out the cdtp and materials and that's all. I am responsible for valve sizing correct material selection final choice of the valve
What the customer is responsible for to check all these. However in project teams they check every detail of the sizing such as sound level reaction force additional notes even api orifice sizings

Regarding too much or little info, it depends on the knowledge and experience each individual has on both the Owner and the Vendor.
IMO, the Owner is still responsible to understand and check the element size and selection suitable for the process and operation.
