Dear Simcenter Femap Customer:
We are pleased to inform you that Simcenter Femap v2020.2 has been just released. Simcenter Femap v2020.2 is available for download from the GTAC FTP server, in the Femap – Femap 2020.2 - Full Install section.
Simcenter Femap v2020.2 is the latest user-focused release of Femap containing many features and enhancements requested by our users worldwide, along with important fixes for known issues.
The latest release provides a variety of enhancements that will improve your productivity across the simulation workflow. First and foremost, performance improvements throughout Femap should lead to greater productivity and quality of user experience, especially for those working with larger models.
The modeling process, whether starting with CAD geometry that requires defeaturing before being idealized or updating the existing mesh of a legacy model imported from a solver input file, has become more capable, robust, and consistent.
Direct interaction between Femap and Microsoft Excel provides seamless transfer of data used for both pre and post-processing activities, including the ability to quickly send large amounts of output directly to a formatted worksheet.
There are also several updates to solver integration for the multi-step nonlinear and aeroelasticity solution sequences of Nastran®, as well as updates for Ansys®, Abaqus® and LS-DYNA®.

Direct links for downloading this release are available below. Note a valid WebKey account is required for download.
After downloading the Simcenter Femap v2020.2 zip file, unzip to a temporary location. The zip file contains an exact copy of the Simcenter Femap v2020.2 DVD. Run the setup.exe and install as usual.
Similar to previous releases of Femap, dongle-based customers are required to obtain upgrade codes in order to run v2020.2. Customers licensed via FLEXlm must update the FLEXlm software on the license server and acquire an updated license file for Femap v2020.2 to run. Please see the README.PDF file in the /network directory on the DVD or download for upgrade instructions. Upgrade codes and updated license files are now available via Siemens Digital Industries Software's GTAC (Global Technical Access Center) WebKey system available online at:
Simcenter Femap customers can use WebKey for both licensing support and product technical support.
