Hello all, first time poster here!

I am using v.7 Microstation to complete a set of drawings and there has been some problems regarding using incorrect seed files. Is there a way of interrogating a file to see which seed file has been used to create it? The seed files seem very similar, the only difference is which type of drawing border comes pre-attached within the file. When looking at a model file this border has been deleted so I cannot think of another way to check for the wrong seed file..

Help!

Hi Kris, unfortuately the answer to your question is more than likely no. There are too many variables that go into how a design file is created. If you think about it the file could have been created by the following ways;
1.) "Copy and rename"
2.) "Save as"
3.) "File new" with the seed file set from your workspace preferences

As you can see no of these ways are attached to any file history. There may be some 3rd party software out there to help you but I know of none at this time. As a suggestion you may want to include in your seed file some text on a unique level to include which seed file was used in the creation of the design file. Hope this helps
