I,m studing about scrubber used in dap unit in petrochemical(IRAN)
and i have a problem with it,s packing because they cracked soon.
we use a saddle packing.
i think it,s reason is the pressure drop in the scrubber.
please help me

What is a dap unit?

What sort of differential pressures are you seeing over the unit? The supplier of your rings should be able to advise you what their recommended dP is to avoid damage.

You haven't really supplied much information to get any suggestions.

The ceramic packing crushes by differents causes, manly by hydraulic (flooding), by thermal cycling or by chemical attack. If we have more information about the operation of the equipment, perhaps we will have a chance to detect the cause of the problem.
