RPZ requires horizontal installation. Most of the lease finish-outs don't have space allocated for this install. Is above the ceiling acceptable and ok location?
Thanks.

You are incorrect in stating that an RPZ requires horizontal installation. There are several rated rpz that are allowed to be vertical.

Go to for a list of which backflow protectors are rated for vertical flow.

If the rpz is small(~1" or less), above the ceiling can be worked - I wouldn't do it because you still have to drain the relief so you will have a pipe coming out of the ceiling to the drain
