Good afternoon,
I’m trying to model a riveted joint under traction in Patran/Nastran using tet4 elements. First I tried to fix all the DOFs in one side of the joint and put a force in the other side. Ok, no problem. Then I decided to fix also all the DOFs in the force’s side of the joint (except the direction of the force, of course). See de attached picture.
The problem that I have now is when I’m plotting the results. Patran shows my model under compression, while the forces should be stretching it. I tried an initial displacement of 1 millimeter, but again the plot showed the deformation on the opposite direction…
Does anyone know what happens?
Thank you!
