I'm re-thinking this installation and wonder about the feasability of the following:
The panel board is squareD I line HCW, with a 400A main.
Square D literature qualifies it as service equipment. The load is a westinghouse combination starter with switch, fuses, contactor and overload feeding 200 HP motor.
Can the feed to the starter draw directly off the panelboard mains, without running through a branch CB? This provision seems to be provided for by availability of Square D sub feed lugs.
IF not, does a mag trip only motor circuit protector in the panel board fulfill requirements?
