Removing rear view mirror mounting plate from windshield 1

How do I remove a rear view mirror mounting plate from the windshield without braking the glass...Plate was installed with standard repair kit (Krazyglue type adhesive)

Acetone and most nail polish removers should be able to weaken the bond
