I tried looking around for an official code interpretation, but couldnt find anything.
We have a customer seeking an integrally reinforced nozzle similar to ASME Section VIII-1, Fig. UG-40 (e-1), is it the intent of the code to limit the credit of "A5" available reinforcement to the height of “te” even when there is additional excess integral metal within the reinforcement zone? If so, does anyone know the reasoning behind this?
