pvc versus chlorinated pvc

In an emergency situation we had to modify some 2" cpvc pipework but using pvc instead (due to material availability.) The duty is ambient temp Chlorine Dioxide at 5 bar pressure. As best we can deduce from corrosion charts pvc is inferior to cpvc, but maily at elevated temps. At ambient, there does not seem to be much difference. We plan to replace the incorrect pipes but are trying to decide if really necessary. Please has anyone any comments.

I seem to remember that PVC doesn't do as well as CPVC in two other situations...

1) sunlight (UV)
2) flex

So beware if you're stringing this stuff out in the sun in a pipe rack intended for large bore steel piping.

You probably want to ask a CPVC/PVC distributor that you trust to not just give you a sales pitch.

Depends on your concentration, but it seems that PVC might be "satisfactory" to 100 deg F.
