We have a design and build contract for an irrigation project. Water is from deep ground water with a temperature of 32.5 degree Centigrade.
Supply is to farm hydrants at a pressure of 4 bar. Supply into the pipeline network is through pressure regulating valves and I am concerned that leakage through the valves will result in static pressures of up to 12 bar.
The contract calls for PVC and uPVC pipe but does not specify what is to be used where.
The pressure ratings for the pipe are not specified but for the temperatures of 32.5 the pressure will have to be derated by 40%.
I can only find data on uPVC water pipe. I am looking for advice on PVC and whether it is more suited to the conditions than u-PVC.
