I was having a look at the chapter on multilayer models, but I just saw many, many plots and no closed-form-solutions. This kind of baffled me because I wanted to prepare a spreadsheet on elastic settlements in an n-layered soil with rigorous solution (integrating the i-th settlements over the whole soil column, allowing for distortion of equal-pressure surfaces caused by different layers properties).
Does this idea sound like "getting a little overboard with it" to you?
May be the appendixes contain some numerical solutions?

That stuff might be in the appendices that I haven't scanned yet - will do that in January. But, for me, give me the book, a chart, a piece of paper and pencil and I'm usually pretty happy.
