I have an axial fan rig that has a new rotor. I have tested it and the efficiency of the new rotor is only about 30% max.
My question is, what are the reasons for poor efficiency, why is the new rotor not very good? It is run at 2000rpm.
Could some-one please also put me into the right direction to where I could learn some basics on Turbomachinery (only Axial fans) and Velocity Triangles and how these are used to look at the performance of a fan. All the neccessary detail around them. Good detail on pressure differences, and how this works etc.
Mass Flow Rate = 0.060 kg/s
Head = 52 Pa
rpm = 2000
blade inlet angle = zero 0
blade output angle = 73
fan outside diamter = 0.2m
fan inside diameter = 0.14m
Area of flow = 0.016
Ambient Pressure = 100774.8
Va=V1(m/s)= 3.097
W1(m/s)= 18.069
Flow co-ef (Va/u) = 0.174
Pressure Rise co-eff. = 0.308
Work Co-ef Delta h/u = 20.569
