Hi All,
I have heard and seen pictures of aromatic polyurethane coatings being applied overtop of an aggregate base in tanker truck offloading areas to contain spills, and it got me wondering whether I could do something similar for the base of a temporary shop floor so I don't need a concrete slab.
I'm looking at building temporary coating facility, and so would like to keep capital cost low. I need containment, but given that the structural steel to be coated will be brought into the shop by trailer, I don't really need a concrete floor.
Presumably the polyurethane coating was applied overtop of a geotextile, and presumably the aggregate base met some sort of compaction requirements, but it appeared that the polyurethane coating stood up quite well to the traffic.
Does anyone have any experience with something like this?
