Dear all
For one of the project, we have been asked to select Duplex stainless steel material for the Plate heat exchanger Plates as the Chloride content in the cooling water is more than 300 ppm. Vendor had offered for 254SMO and when enquired they informs that Plates are not available in Duplex Stainless steel. As the process side does not allow to use Cu Ni alloy we have no other option to use higher cost material 254 SMO...Is there any other alternative. The process side is also hot water used in Polypropylene industry to cool the PP pellets washed water.
Thanks to share your thoughts.
