Hi all,
I have created a hole in a steel rectangular plate diameter of 10 mm. A pin dimensions of 10 mm and 50 mm in diameter and length passes though the hole of the plate.I have used C3D8R solid elements with reduced integration. The analysis is explicit with general contact interaction between the elements.
There are two major concerns in my analysis.
1) There is an over closure concern between the plate hole and the pin.
2) Is there any way to model the pin using hex. elements instead of tet. elements taking into account that I have washers on it in both sides?
Thanks.
