Hi all,

During a safety seminar the safety engineer presented the video of Pemex Reynosa September 2012 explosion. But without any further information.

As I understand, in 0:32, the above ground pipe (or maybe a valve or metering unit ? ) is totally ruptured and then the pipe rotates, almost as a flexible hose, on the horizontal level. But I could be wrong.

Has anyone seen any report about this explosion?

that video has been around for years and i have long forgotten the events that led to failure.

The cause has apparently never been officially determined, or never been publicly released. A pipe rupture was suspected. That is all the information I have been able to find.

0:53 - 0:55. That massive black object moving from right to left must easily be the size of an SUV being hurtled through the air. Can see it causes some secondary damange to pipework on the left (white vapour begins being released from 0:58). Crazy.
