Parametric splines in SE

Hi all,

I need some help on the following problem:
For a part with free form design, I would like to create parametric splines. This is, the splines are connected to points (e.g. ends of lines) that are constrained by dimensions. If I change those dimensions, the positions of the points are changed accordingly. I want the spline to follow these alterations in order to achieve a "parametric" spline. The problem is, as soon as I place a spline on the (parametric) points, I can no longer alter the dimensions of the points and end up with an error message from SE.

Any helps on this topic would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers,
Daniel

For this I use the command Point in Sketch, and after I use the command curve for points in construction toolbars.

The command point are in Sketch->View->Toolbar->Change or modify toolbar.

Try the Curve by Excel table. You can enter a list of keypoints to generate a 3d curve.

I have only done a handfull of splines and I would always use a protrusion. I would like to know why you are trying to do the points method you described. What are the advantages to this, or the dissadvantages to using the protrusion.
