Doe’s any one know of any P, V, and PV numbers for Grey Iron like those for other plain bearing materials such as those for 660 Bronze?
I am primarily interested in Class 20 or 30, but any information would be appreciated.

I've looked through several books and catalogs and can't get a warm fuzzy feeling about a workable number.

A short consensus of several sources gives a value of 23,000 for nonlubricated steel on cast. Another consensus value for perodic lubrication is 46,000.

Like a lot of materials the CI has startup problems both from the lubrication and friction standpoint. It takes a little lubricant to get it going.
