Below is a link to a really neat little .exe file that'll calculate dimensions over pins/balls for gears, racks, worms, serrations & threads.
Developed by a guy in Germany by the name of Emil Meyer; the program used to be available for download for free-of-charge from his website.
Unfortunately it seems that Emil is no longer with us as the website has been offline for several years now.
But, fortunately, I did get to save the file.
