Osprey Sighting

Walking into work this morning - St. Louis - I saw the new OSPREY (half helicopter-half plane) flying overhead - I thought they were very rare.

Makes a very strange noise.

Quite an interesting aircraft...I have seen pictures - but not in real time.

Just wondering how one of those was able to grace our city
and how many people saw it.

We have a subsystems, structures, and acquisition FST here and will be the rework facility after they go operational. Unfortunately its reputation for unreliability and overcomplication has spoiled our enthusiasm.

Here is North Carolina at the Fleet Readiness Center-East (Marine Corp VSTOL rework center). The first operational squadron, the Thunder Chickens (VMM-263), is down the road at MCAS New River.

I saw one in Portland Oregon flying about 3 months ago.
What drew my attention was the "different" noise
it makes. Later someone said (or I read) that you can
not hear it untill it is right on you. That was kind
of my experience. Somewhere on some forum some
guys flying them (marines) were posting and they said they
loved them. Very interesting.
