Open DFT files from vb

I am looking for a way I can either open asm files of par files and get all the associated dft files in vb. Is this possible or are dft files all seperate from the asm and par files. Also I want to be able to open smartview with all the dft files. What type of vb command would it take to open smart view a single time and add the drawings from VB.
