Hi
I work as a nuclear operator in the field
I am new
My heading says Marine because that is where I came from
I wish to start preparing for an "Authorized Nuclear Operator" position.\
I would like to start studying for my generals.
My company will pay 100% cost for an on line course if it will make me a better worker.
I want to know if there is a good online course that I could take that deals with nuclear education.
I am in Canada and they are Candu reactors
Thank you

While this isn't quite what you were looking for, you may still find it helpful.

I recommend that you visit the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission website ( and follow the links below:

Electronic Reading Room > Document Collections > NUREG-Series Publications > Staff Reports

Then look for NUREG 1021, "Operator Licensing Examination Standards for Power Reactors".

This gives the requirements for becoming a nuclear plant operator in the US. While it won't directly apply to you in Canada, it shows you the types of information that you need to learn.

Also, here's a link to the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission:
I haven't explored their website, but you might find something similar there.

Have you talked to your boss, co-worker, HR people or the a guy who is currently a Authorized Nuclear Operator?

If your company has a policy of 100% reimbursement for courses to make you better, I am guessing they also have sources for those courses in mind too.

I would try contacting them first to see which courses they feel is best for your reactor.
