We are attempting to interpret the interactions between excavations of 7.0m dia main tunnel with a 4.0m dia vertical shaft that also connects to an inclined tunnel of same dia. My basic interest area is 3d from main tunnel face and I am not considering the total inclined tunnel length. I assumed zero displacement boundary conditions after certain length from the inclined tunnel start point, whereas in actual the inclined tunnel will be elongated more and connected to an adit tunnel. Is this approach perfect?
