Recently, a contractor completed a new standpipe installation on a project and has some pipes left over. The contractor also has another project in which they received approval for a different manufactured pipes. When they moved the leftover pipes from the previous project to the staging area, we asked them what they were planning to do with those pipes. They said they plan to use them if they run out of pipes approved for this project. We checked the specifications and it does not prohibit the use of the 2 different manufactured pipes that meets project requirements. Does NFPA 14 requires the pipes used in a standpipe system come from the same manufacturer?

No. In fact, the only requirement for any piping is listing.

Specifications on the other hand...

And the pressure rating of the pipe. In high-rise buildings it's common to specify higher pressure pipe and fittings on lower flows.
