We have a carbon steel constructed production line, where stainless steel bars are pushed along carbon steel plates in a drying kiln. Since installing DC servo motors for control of machine movements, the entire machine has become one big magnet, with the north pole on one end and the south pole on the other. This machine is 45 feet long. How can we best demagnetize the entire machine. We are currently removing the servo motors and replacing with hydraulics, but I need to ensure that the magnetic field is dissipated permanently.
