In basic terms, what is going on in Nastran Solution 106 iterations?
Say I have only material nonlinearity. Does Nastran predict the effective modulus of an element, assemble a stiffness matrix, solve for the resulting deformation, calculate the strain, and determine whether that prediction was good (i.e. convergence)? If not, update the prediction and repeat?
How does it determine to reduce the load step size? Is it just that it reaches a maximum number of iterations without converging?
Thanks in advance!
