I'm confused at the concept of MOP, design pressure for pipeline design. What's the difference? When we size the pipe, we use design pressure or MOP? when we determine test pressure, we should use design pressure or MOP? Another thing, pipeline has ANSI rating, which is corresponding to a pressure, what is the difference between it to MOP or design pressure. Could you please show me the way out?
As for pipeline tie-in, can I tie in a pipeline with MOP of 9930kPa to a pipeline with MOP 7580kPa? The former line is from a well head with shut in pressure of 6000kPa?
Thanks.
